HOCHDORF expands range and launches concept for semi-finished products with additional functional benefits

Hochdorf, May 23, 2023At PLMA Amsterdam, HOCHDORF has an exhibition stand in the Swiss Pavilion of S-GE (Switzerland Global Enterprise). In addition to private label products for infant formula “made in Switzerland” and ready-to-export private label brands, the dairy processing company is presenting a concept for a range of functional nutritional supplements for adults (“Specialized Nutrition”) for the first time. The concept is aimed at the food industry and private label buyers.

As a long-standing manufacturer of semi-finished products for the food industry, it was obvious for HOCHDORF to expand its range to include adult and senior food. The company is also a manufacturer and distributor of the well-known starter formula and infant milk brand bimbosan in Switzerland. With specific additional benefits tailored to customer needs — such as increased protein content, functional ingredients or ingredients that promote well-being — the HOCHDORF team at PLMA will share the first possible product specifications with interested parties on a concept basis. Depending on customer requirements, this usually involves very individualized and specific development, with the vast majority of customers already bringing a brand or an idea of a brand world and largely implementing this part themselves.

HOCHDORF supplies the rest — high-quality ingredients based on Swiss milk or plant-based substitute products plus recommendations for functional additional ingredients from partners.

Service package for launching a private label

The HOCHDORF ingredients are professionally dried, mixed and packaged at the Swiss sites in Hochdorf and Sulgen. Consulting Services such as export/import permits, certificates or other go-to-market requirements round off the “made by HOCHDORF” service package.

At the same time, HOCHDORF is also continuing to develop its own B2C brands for the “Specialized Nutrition” sector — in the company's own development laboratory. These in-house developments help the development, marketing and sales team to understand customer and production needs even better and at the same time offer an opportunity to present a future-oriented product portfolio in-house.
