Hochdorf, January 28, 2025 — HOCHDORF Swiss Nutrition AG is celebrating its 130th anniversary today. Founded on January 28, 1895 as a Central Swiss natural milk export company, it looks back on a traditional and eventful company history. After difficult years, there is once again a spirit of optimism under new ownership, as in the Wilhelminian era. HOCHDORF's competencies are current and relevant for the modern diet of people at all stages of life.
HOCHDORF looks back on 130 years of eventful history. It started as a Central Swiss natural milk export company with the aim of selling sterilized milk in cans. In 1905, the production of condensed milk and rolled milk powder for the chocolate industry began and in 1908 the production of infant and infant food took place. Both productions, which, with the Food Solutions and Infant Nutrition divisions, still form the backbone of HOCHDORF Swiss Nutrition AG (HSN)'s business model today.
“Food for Life” as a contemporary mission
After financially difficult years, HSN's existing business model has been developed since the end of 2024 with the takeover by AS Equity Partner GmbH with a new owner. Based on many years of experience and industry know-how in milk-based nutrition technology, HSN continues to pursue the vision of supporting modern nutrition and to be the world's leading Swiss provider of “smart nutrition solutions” across all phases of life. The company focuses on safe, reliable and sustainable nutritional solutions made from the best Swiss milk and whey as well as alternative and plant-based proteins for a modern society.
Thanks and spirit of optimism
On the anniversary, HOCHDORF thanks all its customers, all suppliers and partners, particularly in the Swiss dairy industry, and its employees for their commitment and loyalty over the past 130 years; thanks in particular to the two local communities and their inhabitants. Although the concentration of production facilities in Sulgen in Thurgau in 2025 marks the end of a long industrial history at the production site in Hochdorf, HOCHDORF remains connected to both regions with the administrative location in Central Switzerland. HSN is planning a number of activities for 2025, which will be informed about over the course of the year.
